Putting new energy into supporting small business owners

ENERGY

With a plan to educate and support small business owners, we helped AGL develop some new content, with powerful results.

97% of all Australian businesses are small businesses, and they play an important role in the transition to a sustainable future. AGL wanted to expand their content offering to educate and support this group as they face the many challenges of running a business. So they asked for our help.

Moving beyond energy bills, we explored a range of topics including handy apps to streamline operations, what to consider when moving premises, digital security tips and energy incentives for small businesses. The content contributed to some outstanding results for AGL Discover in FY24. This includes:

  • Increase in annual page views with approx. 10% coming from organic search.
  • Significant increase in unique visitors in H2 FY24 compared to H2 FY23 – the content is successfully attracting new audiences to the platform.
  • Several new customers who joined AGL after reading Discover content – approx. 37% more than the year before. Drawing on their energy experience and working with small businesses, AGL now has answers to common small business questions in one place. These tailored articles make it easy to find useful information business owners can trust, while also giving them helpful (and cost saving) ideas.
